Tag anyone?

I've been tagged by two close friends, Liz and Stacie, and now have the pleasure of running around in circles chasing people in an attempt to tag you.. oh wait, this is virtual tag!

Here are the rules for playing.......the rules of tagging if you are inclined to following rules {if rule following is not your bag, do as you please, but heed the warning: the next time i am at your house i will dip my finger into your peanut butter jar. it will be awkward for all of us.}

1. link to the person that tagged you.
2. post the {very important} rules on your blog.
3. list 6 very unimportant, random nothings about yourself {should be an easy one}

-I broke my foot one summer between 5th and 6th grade. I tripped over my other foot?! What a clutz!

-When I grow up, I might like to become a nurse. (putting aside my years of education to be a teacher AND my current passion of being a photographer)

-I like banana flavored anything. (okay, maybe not "anything" but banana flavored food items for sure.)

-I've thought about getting a tattoo. (I don't think I ever will because the thought of a distorted ladybug on some weird location of my body scares me, ha!)

-Ice cream anyone?

-I'm afraid of the dentist! Eeks!

Since I have few blogging friends, I only have a few people to tag... so, you're it!

It's hard to imagine that Elijah has been in our lives for 3 weeks already! He's so sweet and innocent and little and we love him so much! :)

Because he's just so darn cute!

I had to post a picture because it's of my adorable little one... This is pretty much how he is, he's very calm and makes very little noise. Oooh! So sweet!

Elijah is 2 weeks old...

Elijah has been with us now for nearly 2 full weeks. A lot has changed in our lives, aside from the addition of a new member to the family. We've realized even more how blessed we are by each and every one of our kids... each of them is unique in their own way, they each have their own personalities and even though we may not get along all the time or agree all the time, we love them, ever so much.

Elijah - 2 weeks

Elijah had his 2 week doctor's visit today. Here are his statistics:

Weight today: 9 lb. 1 oz. (60%)
Birth weight: 8 lb. 5 oz.
Length today: 20 3/4 inches (54%)
Birth length: 19 1/2 inches

The doctor was very pleased with his growth. He wasn't overly concerned about his pumpkin color and while we were at the appt. Eli's umbilical cord finally fell off.

Photos.. oh how fun!

There are very few days in life that something couldn't be captured in photos and saved forever in our memories.. as life grows more and more busy, it seems that the opportunities still arise but for some reason capturing them doesn't happen as frequently. I'm working on taking the time for the special, and not so special moments.. just to save as memories of the real life we're living.

Here are a few more pictures from a recent photo session that I thought were worthy of sharing, just because they're so darn cute and they show what our lives are really like here... Yes, Isaac LOVES to hold Elijah, as much as he can!

Something to think about...

I received this story in an email today and it really touched my heart. I hope it does the same for you...

Saying Grace in a Restaurant

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant.

My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, 'God is good, God is great. Thank you
for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream
for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!'

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a
woman remark, 'That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today
don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!'

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, 'Did I do it
wrong? Is God mad at me?'

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God
was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the
table.

He winked at my son and said, 'I happen to know that God thought that
was a great prayer.'

'Really?' my son asked ..

'Cross my heart,' the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose
remark had started this whole thing), 'Too bad she never asks God for
ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.'

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son
stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the
rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it
in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, 'Here, this is
for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is
good already.'

The End

I love this story!

Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

I hope God sends you some Ice Cream today!

Welcome Elijah!

I couldn't tolerate the pain from my contractions any more last night so I decided to make my way to the Labor & Delivery floor. I called and warned them that I'd be coming with the details of what I'd been experiencing. Little did I know, the on call OB had already expected that I'd be having my c-section shortly after I arrived.

Without going into all the surgical details, everything went well. We welcomed
Elijah Joseph at 9:23 pm, Thursday, April 3, 2008. He weighed in at 8 pounds 5 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long. As you'll see from the pictures, he has lots of hair (with highlights!)

Big sister Serenity and big brothers Alex and Isaac are so excited about their new baby brother!

Thank you for all your prayers and support! Love, T, B, S, A, I, & E.

Bobner is coming tomorrow!

I had my final OB appointment yesterday. Each day this week has brought more and more changes in my contractions. (pain, frequency, duration, etc.) After speaking with my doctor, he said if I absolutely had to, I could reschedule my c-section for Friday, which is now tomorrow! After the night I had last night, I'm SOOO glad I did. I was awake most of the night from the contractions, which were even more painful than the night before.

The doctor checked my cervix yesterday and I was still closed.. but things are happening, and I won't go into the gross details.. you're welcome. ;)

Bobner's heart beat was 148-ish and my BP was 123/80.

Stay tuned for more details as they arise. I'm sure I'll be posting lots of pictures as I find the time. Thanks for all your prayers and support along this journey.

Oh son...

What a day my son has had. Isaac is always surprising me with his new antics and today was amazingly the most crazy day he's had!

1. Breakfast - Isaac discovered that the milk left in the bowl after eating cereal makes hair really sticky, especially when you dump it over your own head and laugh as it drips down your face.

2. The soap incident (the next post down)

3. Making dinner - Today I bought Bobner a bouncy seat and had is sitting on the table, thinking it was safe from Isaac and vice versa.. ha, ha.. WRONG! I was making dinner at the time and turned around to find my 21 month old sitting in the bouncy seat with the music and vibration on! He was perfectly content and looked very soothed.. I hope that's how it works for Bobner.

4. Dinner time - We're all sitting around the table eating and talking like we regularly do. I turned and looked at Isaac and realized his fork was on top of his head, balanced amidst the noodles and sauce from the Swedish Meatballs.. Ugg!! I couldn't help but laugh..

Tomorrow is a new day, but good grief, what can I expect?!

What will he do next?!

It's always interesting at our house, rarely a dull moment even during naptime... Today is no different, and it's only 9:00 am!

I was putting an order together at the kitchen table, Alex was in the bathroom and Isaac was playing in the studio (or so I thought... hint, hint..)

I went to help Alex and caught a glimpse of Isaac in the studio.. with his back to the door, hand soap dispenser on the floor next to him... ugg! I walked in the studio and said his name in a stern voice to which he startled and made the most guilty face - eyes wide open, mouth saying "uh-oh".. he had been caught! Much to my surprise, he was cleaning up his very large soapy mess with a towel --> he knew he was wrong! I couldn't help but smile inside knowing that he had learned his lesson, the only troubling thought is that my 21 month old is already trying to hide things from me... hmmm... how scary!
